Your Body & Water

Your Body & Water

Why is water so important to us?

Water sustains all forms of life, including human life.

Water adjusts the body's temperature and assists in digestion. It removes toxins from the body and also makes necessary body fluids. The chemical reactions that support life take place in a water medium, with water being an important reactant or product of these reactions.

It can be said that the chemistry of life is water chemistry. For the body to function properly, it must be hydrated properly. Moreover, the qualities and properties of the water we drink can determine the quality of our health.

How much water do you drink everyday?

Not coffee, tea or soda - we are talking about water in the purest form. Coffee, tea, soft drinks, and even alcoholic beverages do contain water, but they also contain chemicals and additives harmful to your body. These are not substitutes for water and they do not hydrate and cleanse your body like pure water.

  • The adult human body is made up of 60-75% water.

  • The brain is made up of about 85% water.

  • Blood, which carries nutrients and oxygen throughout the body, is about 90% water.

You see, water carries life energy - water is your lifeline!

By the time you're thirsty,
you are already dehydrated!

Chronic dehydration manifests itself as sickness and premature aging. An average person needs a minimum of 64 ounces
of water per day
(at least 8 glasses) in order to function at an optimum level. When the human body is dehydrated, it begins to pull water from its organs and tissues.

Lack of energy and constant exhaustion are the results of even mild dehydration. Other results of dehydration include allergies, asthma, colitis, constipation, migraine headache, rheumatoid arthritis, and angina- just to name a few.

It is obvious that both the quality and the quantity of your water intake have a significant effect on your physical and mental health.

Is all water the same? Have you ever wondered if there was something more you should know about the water you are drinking?

Is your body acidic?
Over acidity is very common and may be due to a combination of reasons including diet, environment pollutants, disease and even some medications.

Body Acidity & Disease:
When the body is in a constant state of acidity it gives rise to an environment conducive to disease. Symptoms associated with an acid condition include weight loss problems, insomnia, water retention, rheumatoid arthritis, migraine headaches, alternating constipation, diarrhea, colds, flu, difficulty swallowing, burning in the mouth, bumps on the tongue, stomach ulcers, cancer and even acid reflux are all often associated with this condition.

An Alkaline Balanced Body:
When you have an alkaline body, bacteria and viruses will perish in this alkaline environment allowing the body to resist disease. A pH balanced, or an alkaline body doesn't create the environment for viruses and bacteria to thrive and flourish. Thus, no bacteria or virus will enter an alkaline body, grow and mutate into serious illness or disease.

Alkalizing the Body:
Changing the body to a more alkaline state by alkalizing and
building the immune system are closely related and may be combined. A healthy body maintains adequate alkaline reserves to meet emergency demands. When excess acids must be neutralized, our alkaline reserves are depleted leaving the body in a weakened condition.
